“Dylan Zane has everything he wants. He’s co-owner of a lucrative business, rich, good-looking, and has willing women available any time he wants them. He’s never felt like he’s been missing out on anything. Until he met her…
Riley Daniels knows she shouldn’t be attracted to Dylan Zane. He insults her, makes her second-guess herself, and they argue more than they get along. But there’s times she sees another side of him and she knows there’s more to him…
They both have a past they’d rather keep hidden. But secrets have a way of coming out. Especially when you don’t want anyone to know about them.
Riley decides she’s going to tear down those walls Dylan has built and tempt him into becoming hers. He’s worth it. Isn’t he? Can she handle what it takes to tempt Dylan and will Dylan let her love him when he thinks she offers a life he doesn’t want or deserve?”
I received this eBook from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Honestly, I didn’t like this book as much as I did the first book. Dylan is one of the biggest jerks. Especially to Riley, and for no reason. It’s like that schoolyard mentality that the guy must like you if he’s a big jerk to you. Uhm, no.
In the previous book, Riley had befriended Wren after a situation arose with one of Wren’s special needs students. As a case worker dealing in fostering children and child welfare, I guess that rubbed Dylan the wrong way. But honestly, he pretty much judged her based on his own issues in the past.
The best part of this was getting to see how Wren and Stellan were getting on in their marriage.
But if it was I dealing with Dylan, I’d have hoofed him out onto the street for his behaviour. Rude much!
Although in the end, he learned that valuable lesson that you don’t know how much you love someone until they’re gone. Once he fell in love, Dylan was a bit more tolerable.
