Time is creation and there is life in many worlds. Our universe is born from an infinite quantum environment retaining its connection to other potential universes. Through observation (what you see is what you get), it is possible to travel to other times in many worlds. This book is about that vision, transformation, and crossover; the persistence of mind (M), and the role and nature of God. It is a metaphysical, philosophical, and theological adventure

“A book of reveals: reading it you follow Jack Rabbit and Gray Squirrel into worlds more curious than Alice’s, and way more empowering. The energizing pair are more pixie wise than Father Brown, and more always-a-jump-ahead than Alan Watts. Hey, Jack’s a rabbit! and friend Gray’s a natural nut-buster.

If you’re of a certain age you’ll recognize Jack as Uncle Wiggly’s postmodern nephew. Grand as that gentleman was, Jack’s got him beat, because this book is kid brother to the author’s more “grown up” (Very Serious) Deconstructing Zen and other works. Come one, come all, to his playground.

Discover grim(m) Funbuster and earnest Professor caught in their endless loop. And why Deconstructor pities those thinking the purpose is philosophical, literary, or political agenda. Go through the tunnel to find the ballpark’s secret diamond and elegant dance, and listen to Lady Bluebird. Learn what the gym tells about your wheel of body-mind. The Woman on the bike gets it! She so well shows Jack and Gray how it’s done that you, too, may fall for her.

Cobra’s right to say “be careful what you look for, that’s what you’ll find,” but there’s no missing the most Flower since Little Prince. Along the way, you’ll meet relatives and neighbors, and get more out of Margarita than Jimmy Buffet ever has. You’ll meet Shiva and Punchinello, Higgs and the Ferryman. In the oak grove of a different forest, you may hear Elie Wiesel’s Rebbe, the one who knows “only the story” and that “this must suffice.”

Dell’s fable more than suffices: it’s invitation and jolly romping journey to the other shore. Just don’t rush it, as I did first time through. (Gorging on rich nourishment yields indigestion.) Take it easy, one bite at a time. It won’t ever wear out, and you’ll be in great company.” -Amazon Reviewer, Stephen M. Johnson

Jack and Gray went inside [the museum]. “Where are the mummies?” they inquired.

“Over there in the Egyptian Hall,” pointed the guard.

“These long boxes with faces are weird,” observed Gray. “Where are the bodies?”

“Shriveled and gone,” answered a guard. “There’s only a few left around the world, but people flock to view them.”

“Why?” asked Gray.

“Because they don’t understand.”

“What’s that odd shaped eye near the face?”

“The wedjet eye.”

“Isn’t it looking the wrong way?”

“No, the wedjet eye looks into the corners of the world. That’s why it stares parallel to forward and backward. It sees through time.”

“Making life and death meaningless,” deduced Jack…

Six best selling and award winning authors bring you six Sweet to Sensual stories. [Savings of more than 75% if books are purchased separately].

Welcome to La Bonne Chance Resort & Casino!

With thousands of people passing through the casino’s doors on a daily basis, it’s no surprise that a variety of lives and loves are on the line there. It’s said that you’re more likely to lose your heart than a hand of poker at La Bonne Chance. Whether you are the Director of Casino Operations or the guy who created its software, a jilted bride or a black jack dealer, a past guest’s ghost or a sous chef–when it comes to love, the stakes are high.

Thank goodness what happens at La Bonne Chance, doesn’t always stay at La Bonne Chance… Ready to roll the dice?

All In For Love

PERFECT ODDS by LaShanta Charles
Heartbroken and alone, event planner, Callista Brenner believes the only thing she needs in her life is a plan to get her back on track. And to stay away from the devastatingly handsome, Jayce Gilmore, who promises to be exactly what she needs. When her “plan” backfires and threatens her very existence, what will she do to secure her future?

A GHOST TO DIE FOR by Keta Diablo
Unlike Violet, her psychic sister, Rooney Fontaine doesn’t believe in ghosts. Until one shows up in her hotel room begging for help. Headlines in the local newspaper said the man jumped from his seventh story balcony, but Rooney’s truth compass is screaming something far more sinister.

RAISING KANE by Kat Henry Doran
She’s Raisin’ Kane, committed to reporting the truth. He’s Kieran Pollack, master at spinning the facts in favor of the criminal justice system and those who serve it. Truth or fiction: both could bring them to their knees.

AN INN DECENT PROPOSAL by Sharon Buchbiner
Jim Rawlings takes the biggest chance of his life—bidding at auction for a once-grand inn. Genie King attends the hotel auction, never expecting another LBC employee to bid at the sale—much less the guy she had a major crush on in high school. Working together means Jim must share long-hidden secrets. Will Genie reject the man with a past? Or will she love the man he’s become?

FOR MONEY OR LOVE by Margo Hoornstra
He’s a mega-millionaire who covets wealth
She’s a computer genius who covets life
Their money or a life together, which will they choose?

TAKE A CHANCE ON ME by M.J. Schiller
She’s a dealer on a losing streak with love.
He’s a cop who will go all in to save her from the mob.
Can she take a chance on him when this could be her final wager?

Part of the All in For Love Box Set!

Callista Brenner refuses to let go of her past. She had her entire life figured out…except, maybe that was only in her mind. Being stood up for her own wedding should be a clue. Regardless, she’s determined to fix this. She just needs a plan and if there’s one thing she’s good at, it’s planning. Her accolades as one of Georgia’s top premiere event planners if proof of that. It doesn’t matter that she’s a whirlwind of clumsy chaos. All she has to do is stay away from the gorgeously irritating Jayce Gilmore and her wedding will be back on track. That’s exactly what she wants. Right? She loves her fiancé. She wants to marry him and start a family. He’s her everything. Or is he?

Jayce Gilmore has somehow let himself be bamboozled. One minute he was enjoying his quiet existence in his home in the outskirts of Victory, NY and the next he was facing his best friend’s wife and promising to be the best man at their wedding, which he also agreed to host at his resort & casino, La Bonne Chance. The introvert in him is questioning his sanity. As if that wasn’t bad enough, his partner has decided he’s taking a three-month hiatus, leaving the business solely in Jayce’s hands. Just when he’s ready to curl into a ball and refuse to leave his room, a chance encounter at an airport has him realizing some things are worth venturing out of your comfort zone for.

Neither of them could have guessed that Callista’s past would decide it wants to be her future and will stop at nothing to make that a reality. Could she accept that maybe her carefully laid plans weren’t as careful as she thought? Will Jayce be able to show her that he’s worth a chance and, together, their oddities can be perfect?

Cali

I nibble on my thumbnail as I watch the other travelers, clad in the makings of a summer vacation t-shirts and shorts, moving to and fro. Hot pink backpacks and black rolling cases bob and weave in a sea of commuters. Our flight is on the second call of now boarding all passengers and Cameron has yet to show up or answer my calls. Scanning the crowd, I search for his clean-cut, freshly shaved face, but come up empty. He’s still not here. A roiling ball of dread settles into the pit of my stomach. Something must have happened to him. It’s the only explanation I can think of that would lead to him not being here.

A toddler wobbles past me, blonde pigtails bouncing as plump legs struggling to support the carefree attempt to run, and stepping aside, I smile down at her as she chants “uh-oh.” How freaking cute is that? I bet she gets into all sorts of shenanigans. A woman, with identical blonde curls and green eyes, rushes after her and scoops her up before giggling ensues. She plants a smacking kiss on the child’s chubby cheeks before pointing and encouraging the child to say “da-da.” A smiling man with unnaturally white teeth approaches with his arms stretched out and the child squeals and squirms as she nearly jumps from the woman’s arms. You can’t witness such a scene and not smile. Two more years and that’ll be me with my own family—number three on my list of priorities. My phone vibrates, startling me out of staring at the trio. Relief envelops me like a warm blanket when I see the picture of Cameron on the screen.

“Where are you? They’re boarding everyone now. I’ll go ahead and let them know we’ll make it,” I answer, my phone cradled between my shoulder and ear.

“I’m not coming,” he says.

I pause in making my way to the attendant station. Surely, I heard him wrong.

“Hang on a sec, let me ask them how long we have before they can no longer wait. If you’re here already it shouldn’t be a problem. You’ll need to hurry. Like, sprint through the airport or maybe get one of those guys on the carts to give you a ride somehow.”

The attendant flashes a smile at me and holds her hand out for my boarding pass. Her two front teeth are chipped and it makes me think of the time Cameron chipped his tooth while playing basketball last year. He got it fixed immediately, so I wonder why she’s chosen to leave hers like that. I move to give her the passes, but hear Cameron speaking again.

“Cali, you’re not listening. I’m not there. I’m not coming either.”

Pulling my boarding pass away from the chipped tooth attendant, I force a smile and step away for privacy. “What are you talking about, Cameron? I’m here waiting for you.” As if he doesn’t know that. He helped me load our luggage into the car before I left this morning. Is this some sick joke he’s pulling right now?

“Didn’t you hear me, Cali? I said I’m not coming,” Cameron repeats, his voice harsh and grating.

I stare numbly at the ‘now boarding’ screen above the attendant. I heard him the first two times. It makes as much sense now as it did then—none.

“I don’t understand. You can’t not come, we’re getting married. I can see if they’ll schedule us for a different flight. I’m sure it’s not too late. We’re getting there early enough one day won’t really matter,” I tell him.

He lets out an exasperated sigh. He’s annoyed? We’re four weeks away from our wedding and I’m at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, sans fiancé. I woke up at some ungodly hour, battled an hour and a half of bumper to bumper traffic to get here and get us both checked in two hours early, lugged all our suitcases—overweight, I might add—only for him to call when it’s time to board the flight to New York and tell me he’s not coming. Yet, he’s the one who’s annoyed?

“I don’t know what else to say, Cali. I’m trying to do right by you here. We both knew this wouldn’t end well. This was a mistake. A huge mistake and you’re only making it harder. I can’t do this right now. For once, let something go.”

I don’t even know how to respond to that. A mistake? What part of this is the mistake? One of the biggest occasions in my life—number one on the list—is a huge mistake for him? Try as I might, I can no longer speak. ‘We’ didn’t know this wouldn’t end in anything but a marriage. ‘Do right by me?’ How is standing me up for our wedding doing right by me? I didn’t ask to marry myself. I didn’t insist on us having a short engagement or me moving in with him.

I watch as the attendant lifts a phone to her mouth and smiles. A few seconds later I hear her disembodied voice over the PA system.

“This serves as a final boarding call for Delta Flight 1762 with service to Buffalo New York. All ticketed and confirmed passengers should report to Gate C23 for immediate departure.”

“Look, I can hear them in the background. You shouldn’t be at the airport alone. Go back to your parents’ place and we’ll talk more about this later. I have to get back to work,” Cameron says.

My parents’ place? He’s kicking me out? And why is he at work? We’re supposed to be leaving. Like, right now! I open my mouth to speak, not entirely sure what I’ll say, but I’m cut off by someone roughly bumping my shoulder. Silently, I watch as my phone crashes to the ground and bounces once before landing, screen up. It didn’t shatter, but the screen is dark. Cameron probably thinks I hung up on him. It’s much less than he deserves at this point.

“Sorry, didn’t see you there.”

Story of my freaking life. Destined to fade into the background where no one sees me. Number two on the list—stand out more. This guy’s apology definitely didn’t sound sincere. I look up to see a startling shade of blue staring down at me. Cold. I don’t like it. Blue is my favorite color, but I like warm blues. Blues that make you think of a tropical oasis. Definitely not blue like this stranger’s eyes. This shade of blue makes me anxious and . . . sad? Scared? Why the hell am I thinking about shades of blue when my life has just ended? Stupid stranger not looking where he’s going. He’s a jerk, like all men in the universe.

“I’ll get it,” he declares, grabbing my phone from the floor.

Before I can tell him to leave me alone, I hear the attendant speaking again.

“Ms. Brenner?” she pauses and looks expectantly at the bearded man standing next to me.

“Gilmore,” he supplies as he takes a step away from her.

We both turn to give her our attention, although I really don’t want to. I want to stand here and wallow in my misery. I want to reach out and pull this guy’s thick beard, cause him a little pain so I don’t suffer alone. What the hell does Cameron mean by ‘I can’t do this right now’? Was I just . . . dumped? Is Cameron breaking up with me or does he just not want to marry me? Is there really a difference at this point in our relationship? Can we really stay together if he basically rescinds his proposal?

I’m a cliché of epic proportions. I want the fairytale wedding with a princess gown and a horse-drawn carriage. I want a wedding that will resemble a forest at dusk with stars twinkling in the sky and a sensual melody playing in the background. I stop my train of thoughts when the attendant speaks again.

“We need you to board now if this is your flight. We really need to close the gate now.”

“Our apologies for being late,” Mr. Gilmore grumbles before turning to me and gesturing toward the gate. “After you.”

I’m slightly pleased his apology to her seemed even less sincere. There was also much more annoyance in his voice. I think. Plus, I wasn’t even late. I was very much so on time. I was where I was supposed to be and checked in like I should have. Just . . . not with whom I’m supposed to be with. Tears well in my eyes fall quicker than I can blink them away. The attendant clears her throat nervously and a horrified look crosses Mr. Gilmore’s face.

“Ma’am, we really need to close the gate now,” chipped tooth says.

I’m not only crying, but I’ve given them no response this entire time and I’m holding up the flight. Cameron and I were supposed to be going on this trip to New York as a vacation—and pseudo-honeymoon since it came before the ceremony, and end it with our wedding. Except now, he’s not here and he’s not coming.

“Allergies,” I lie with a forced smile. I hand over my boarding pass and soon enough, I’m on my way to La Bonne Chance Casino Resort, solo.

On the night of her brother’s murder, Deena Hammond stumbles upon Takumi Tanaka, lost and on the wrong end of a .32. After rescuing him from the certain fate driving through her neighborhood in a Porsche will bring, a sweet kind of friendship begins. A balm for her grief.

Maybe, Deena likes to think, it happened the day her mother killed her father. Or maybe, it was always a part of them, like DNA gone bad. Whatever the case, Deena knows that her family would never approve, hell, never acknowledge, her fast-growing love for Tak. And had he never made love to her in that unraveling, soul-searching sort of way, she could’ve done the same. But loves a devil that way. So, their game begins. One where they hide what they are from everyone. Anyone.

Tak understands this for now. After all, Deena’s career hinges on the favor of her mentor and boss: his hard-ass of a father. And the Hammond family is already stretched thin with grief. Yet, each step Deena takes toward family and career brings her closer to an acceptance she’s never had—and away from him.

“So, what does my little architectural scholar think of the Atlanta skyline?” Tak asked as he took a sip of sweet tea.

Deena lowered her gaze. It was the right question, a distraction from the jitters she felt from being hundreds of miles away from home with a man who made her wake up in desperation.

She shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know. There’s a lot of modern and postmodern stuff here, but that’s not surprising. Atlanta’s a southern city, but it’s a hybrid one. In a time when much of the south rejected what they saw as an encroachment on an old way of life, Atlanta was going through a transformation, if you will. They wanted to be seen as a progressive city, a sort of beacon of the ‘New South’. You know how some of the best architecture reflects the values of the people around it? Well, Atlanta’s no exception. You can see the rejection of antebellum roots and—”

Deena paused, her cheeks coloring. “I’m so sorry. Before this is over you’ll wish you asked some other girl to come with you.”

Silence followed. Her words implied more than she’d intended about their reasons for being there, implied more than the careful friendship they’d maintained to that point.

A slight smile played across Tak’s lips. “Don’t be silly, Dee.” He watched her as she shifted, before apparently deciding she’d squirmed enough. “You’re a genius. My otosan must love talking to you.”

Deena shrugged. “It’s a big firm. I don’t really spend time with your father.”

Tak laughed. “You do. You just think you don’t.”

“Now what in the world does that mean?”

“My dad’s a brilliant man whose whole life is wrapped up in that firm. He hired you because he saw something. While you were his intern, he studied you, figured out what you were made of, and decided that he liked it. In other words, he was spending time with you even if you weren’t spending time with him.”

Before Deena could respond, the waitress returned with their food. Pecan waffles and scrambled eggs, biscuits and country gravy and two unidentifiable piles on saucer plates were placed before them.

“What in the hell is this?” Deena said, lifting the edge of a saucer for inspection. Her nose crinkled at the mass.

“It’s hash browns. Try it.”

Tak grabbed a bottle of syrup and went to work on his waffles.

“Hash browns where?”

Tak grinned. “Hash browns there.” He jabbed at the mass with his syrup-covered fork. “There’s also onions, ham, cheese, chili and tomatoes.” He pointed at each item with the utensil before returning to the slicing of his waffles. “And it’s all quite good.”

She looked at the red and yellow goo that covered the potatoes in distrust. She didn’t want to think of how many calories might be in that little saucered dish, with its fried potatoes and ooze of cheese. She didn’t want to think of what her ass would look like in a swimsuit after a bite of that stuff.

“Come on, Dee. Open up already.”

Tak stuck his fork into his mouth to clean it before taking a stab at her hash browns. He came away with a thick wad, and trained it towards her mouth. “Just a little now.”

With a hand beneath her chin, he guided the gooey hash into her mouth. An explosion of flavor slipped between her waiting lips, and with it the fork that had once been in his mouth. She blushed.

“Uh oh,” Tak said as he caught chili with his thumb. Quickly, he returned the finger to her mouth, her lips parting to accept it. He gasped loud enough to draw the eye. Their gazes connected, locking for too long. Staring, neither speaking, breathing as the seconds passed until he receded. Wide-eyed, Deena cleared her throat and looked away, red-faced and stiff. Tak stared, a sober, blinking astonishment on his face. Both finished their meals in silence.

Veronica has just gotten home after solving a minor case in Mexico involving kidnapping, betrayal, bank fraud, and a Colombian drug cartel when an old acquaintance shows up to hire her. Somebody has been committing impossible murders all over the world, and Veronica is the only person qualified to stop the killer before the body count soars.

The problems start with her client. Can she trust a demon prince not to send her back to therapy or worse for another year? What, if any, is his hidden agenda? Is anything at all as it seems?

Veronica thought she had a handle on magic and demons, but as soon as she starts investigating it’s obvious that all the rules have changed. She’s playing in the big leagues now, and she’s going to have to move heaven and hell to keep humanity alive. Starting with herself.

Now, if she can only survive dinner with her family, a blind date, a small immigration problem, and working with the federal cabinet, it’s possible that all will be well.

Or at least as well as it can be when you have to deal with insane immortals and a talking cat.

There was almost no light in my room, but by the red glow of the numbers on my alarm clock I could see vague shadows in front of me at the foot of the bed. They looked suspiciously like a pair of feet that were blocking my way to the door. My eyes followed the shadows up the dark mass to a quiet blue flame hovering in midair. It moved, becoming brighter for a moment. There was a sound of someone exhaling, and the pungent burning smell became more intense and caught in my throat. The smell wasn’t tobacco.

It was brimstone.

I scurried backward, crab-walking with my butt almost on the floor until my head hit the night table. The lamp on top teetered and fell to the carpet. I felt the lamp shade brush by my hair as it narrowly missed my head. The crunch of a breaking light bulb was close and immediate.

Adrenaline poured through my system again. I chose to interpret it as anger rather than fear. A male voice with a distinctive lisp familiar to a previous generation of movie-goers spoke in the darkness.

“Nice reflexes, doll, but you should put something on. You look cold.”

I knew that voice. It was far too late for modesty, so I stood up, pushed past the figure, and put on the robe that was hanging on the door. I tied the belt by touch, viciously yanking the ends as I did so. I would have a hell of a time getting it undone later, but that was the least of my worries.

I found the wall switch without much trouble and flicked it upward with a satisfying snap. The result was painfully bright, and I couldn’t help blinking several times. It didn’t make any difference to what I saw, which was exactly what I was hoping I wouldn’t.

Humphrey Bogart, circa 1941, stood in my bedroom, dressed in a well-tailored, three-piece, pin-stripe suit. He’d tossed his fedora over the post at the bottom of my bed.

I really liked normal cases. None of them involved Sam Spade showing up in my bedroom at oh dark seventeen. Especially considering what the bastard had done to me the last time we’d met.

He waved the sulphurous cigarette at me in greeting, and took another puff. How do you even smoke sulphur? The stench tickled my throat, and I made a great effort not to cough. I’d be damned before I’d let him make me cough.

“Put that out. You’ll stink up the whole apartment.”

“Whatever you say, toots.” The cigarette vanished as if it had never existed. The smell did not go with it.

About the Book

Tragedy places the soldier in StPatrick’s complex, determination to be someone of use keeps her within its walls. When she finally takes her first breaths of freedom, the soldier is sucked back into military servitude. Her long, violent capture and imprisonment by Rochester sets her path of physical and psychological terror.

Under his rule, she learns the depth of her own depravity, and how far she can go before she threatens to lose herself. But when Tomlin and his team rescues her, she discovers a new threat in the life she chooses to lead.

As the pages of her genetically-altered history are revealed, the soldier finds the key to achieving her new goal: revenge.

It’s unfortunate it might just kill her in the end.

Excerpt

He considered my flesh, running his fingertips down the length of my thigh as he nodded and tapped my flank just below one of my tribal tattoos. I saw him lift his cigar to his lips, puffing a few times, then watched him lower the cigar to the item he held. Within seconds, the tip was red. My eyes grew large as I realized what it was.

“Only for a moment,” Rochester re-emphasized as he brought the small trinket to my thigh, meeting my gaze with his filled with enjoyment.

I screamed as the brand dug into my fat, cooking the skin and membranes below. My body convulsed, my muscles twitching and fighting despite the increasing tightness of the muscular man’s hold on me. I broke out into a cold sweat, muscles quivering from pain, my mouth tasting bile as I held back sickness.

Finally, Rochester took the brand away, tearing skin as it lifted off. He lowered his head to below where I could see him and I could feel his warm breath as he blew on the mark. I stiffened in response, the area smarting. I could already feel the slow continuation of heat as the burn sensation spread.

Two threads are flawlessly woven together in this sweeping historical novel. In one, Gudrun, a Burgundian noblewoman, dares to enter the City of Attila to give its ruler what she hopes is a cursed sword; the second reveals the unimaginable events that have driven her to this mission. Based in part on the true history of the times and in part on the same Nordic legends that inspired Wagner’s Ring Cycle and other great works of art, The Last Wife of Attila the Hun offers readers a thrilling story of love, betrayal, passion and revenge, all set against an ancient backdrop itself gushing with intrigue.

For a quarter of a century, forty-five-year-old Zinc has worked as a caretaker for a wealthy old man, living in a small casita on his ranch in New Mexico. She doesn’t make much money, but she has the old man, her dogs, and gorgeous views of the mountains. She is basically a very content recluse who doesn’t invest much time thinking about what she might do if her circumstances change. So when the old man dies suddenly, and his daughter all but throws her off the property, Zinc is forced to reinvent herself—and quickly. With a touch of magical realism and a collection of offbeat characters, The Accidental Art Thief explores the thin line between life and death and the universal forces that connect all things.

Zinc is an engaging, quirky, and utterly unique heroine, instantly likable, with a hefty mixture of strong intelligence and overwhelming naivety…. While the novel is realistic, there is subtle magic woven in nearly every line, as coincidence and confusion come together into what might be termed the wisdom of time, spirit, and love.” ~ Magdelena Ball, CompulsiveReader.com, author of Sublime Planet, Black Cow, and other titles.

Schweighardt populates her modern-day odyssey through the southwest with fascinating, quirky characters thrust into a complex (and hilarious) web of emotional turmoil, poignant misperceptions, and downright lies. As laugh-out-loud funny as it is thought provoking.” ~ Julie Mars, author of the memoir A Month of Sundays: Searching for the Spirit and My Sister, and the novels Rust, Anybody Any Minute, and The Secret Keepers.

A sensitive, gripping, artfully rendered novel that kept me reading from the first page to the last.” ~ Faye Rapoport DesPres, author of the memoir-in-essays Message from a Blue Jay.

Death May Be The End…
But Love Doesn’t Give A @&%#.

Murderer…
Jace Camden is haunted by his past. One that has many believing he got
away with murder. He’s on the run from it, trying to start a new life in a new
town. But his past won’t let won’t him escape, and it’s determined that his future will not long.
Death will demand its due… and his dead wife will make sure that debt is paid in full.

Kitt Thomas’ life is in a rut, but that changed when she looked into the sad, haunted eyes, of Jace Camden. Something about his wounded soul called to her—like a like a whisper of a melody in a mysterious abyss she should have the sense to ignore.

But his past will make sure Kitt is no more part of Jace’s future than life is.
Because he’s Soul Bound – and that’s a shackle that can only be broken by death.
His.

It’s not about the Happily Ever After…
It’s about surviving the read.

*Warning – this book deals with the subject of death, grief in a graphically realistic and dark manner*

Kitt head tilted as she narrowed her eyes, and asked, “Want to talk about her?”

Jace turned his gaze to look out over the water and shook his head as his lips pressed into a thin line. She nodded, began walking more and he followed in relief— so grateful in the fact she didn’t push and had the intuition to know he didn’t want her to. His thumb rubbed over her knuckles as they walked in silence, with the sand still warm from the day under their toes. She stopped again and he turned to face her, mentally braced for her to inquire for more—dreaded what it would entail or how he could divert answering.

“How long?”

Jace sighed and closed his eyes before he answered, “Five years.”

She nodded in silence and squeezed his hand as they began moving again. He once more found himself smiling at Kitt’s unobtrusive questions and gentle manner with which she handled the situation. This time he paused their motion and Kitt turned to face him as he asked quietly, “You? Married? Boyfriend?”

She laughed softly and smiled as she shook her head. “No. Well. I’ve had boyfriends, but never married. None stayed around long enough to ask me to do the deed.”

Kitt did a cute “oh” expression at his raised eyebrow partnered with a smirk and clarified herself, “Oh I’ve done that deed. I mean. Oh hell, that was way too much information.” She blushed and he found it absolutely delicious. “Way to go, Kitt. Way. To. Go.” She mumbled and looked down at the sand.

He chuckled as he tugged her back into motion and she closed the distance between them, scuffing her feet in the sand. Now their hands and their arms made contact; the sensation from her touch set Jace at a low burn. Her flesh so warm, soft yet firm and he found himself wondering once again what she tasted like. It sent his mind once again on a path he had not traveled in years and he blocked it off—the draw to her like a flickering flame to his in the dark soul. One he must keep in check and his soul would have to stay where the nightmare of his existence had placed it.

They continued in silence with Jace catching Kitt cutting side glances his way. He hoped he seemed relaxed, and prayed she didn’t try to look deeper. She would see an underlying tension of him preparing for something bad to happen—as it always did. Well, she knew he had lost someone he loved which was bound to make anyone edgy—perhaps she would notch his nerves to that. When they reached a small fishing pier, she pulled on his hand to bring him to a stop once again. He readied himself to answer another one of her gentle questions. But instead, she stepped forward, reached out with a feather light touch and brushed his cheek with her fingertips. Jace frowned in puzzlement as he fought the urge to step away from the gesture. But he relished her warmth as he closed his eyes when she pressed her palm against his cheek and ran her thumb along his temple.

“Why do I feel like you need to be touched?” She said in a hushed whisper. “Why do you seem so sad? What is going on under your surface and why am I so drawn to it?”

Jace swallowed and thought. Please don’t be. He knew that he was like the darkest of riptides and Kitt seemed like such a wonderful person—he would hate for her to be sucked under the surface of his sorrow and drown with him. The guilt would be too great and he could not carry more. “This was a mistake.”

He went to pull away to correct that misstep in judgement but then she cupped his face. Jace’s eyes slid open to find her looking perplexed and realized she must have thought him strange. He let out a pained sound, continued to move away but she grabbed his arms and stopped him gently. She suddenly needed to learn and try to understand the enigma of Jace Camden—not sure as to why…

She just wants to use him for revenge.

Him.
A billionaire MMA fighter whose cocky smile and washboard abs make wet panties drop left and right.
She thinks she wants him for one amazing night out and end it.
Boy, did she think wrong.

He’s about to teach her how much more she really wants.

LISA
Finding out your husband’s cheating is hard.
Finding out it’s with a college girl is even harder.
The easy part? Retribution: beating him blue with a baseball bat and kicking him to the curb.
But it’s still not enough.

So when Bobby Carter, fresh out of college, blows back into town with all the intensity of a hurricane, I decide I’m not done.
Bobby’s everything my ex-husband is not. Sexy, aggressive, and intense.
Like melt me into a puddle intense.

Who cares if I used to babysit him?
He’s a grown man, now. And I mean, FULLY grown.

All I wanted was a night out with him, but one taste and I’m addicted.

BOBBY
When Lisa Howard finally gets rid of her cheating husband, I want to take her right then and there.
I got rid of that abusive bastard and built a billion dollar empire all for her.
Nothing could satisfy my ravenous hunger but taking a bite of that sweet little thing.

So when she offers herself up to me for one night, I’m not about to refuse.
She’s nothing like the sorority bimbos at Northfield U.
She is a real woman.
Sexy, mature, and an ass so fine I would give up my billions just for a taste.

But I know a taste won’t be enough and one night too short for all the dirty things I want to do to her and that deliciously curvy body.

She’ll be mine, but not just for tonight. Forever.

This is a full-length, standalone, steamy 18+ romance. No cheating or cliffhangers, and definitely a wonderful Happily Ever After guaranteed.

Finally, he could feel what I felt. All the abuse, all the suffocating agony from living under his oppressive rule. Finally, I could give it all back to him.

Let me give you a piece of advice: it’s unhealthy to repress that much shit. So don’t.

Unless one day, you might end up beating your douchebag husband half to death.

After a good solid minute of getting his ass beat, he finally snatches an opportunity to

escape. As I take a breather, he scrambles towards the front door, running out onto the

lawn.

But he doesn’t get far.

He’s not getting away. Not today.

Cause right now, there’s a fucking animal inside me.

I chase him down and knocking him to the grass, continuing my assault with the bat.

I can’t seem to stop myself. Not that I want to.

One part of me is filled with wrathful vengeance and the other looks on a spectator, as if I’m watching a horror movie. I really like horror movies.

Suddenly, big fat hairy arms wrap around my waist, pulling me away from Donald.

Donald my husband: The liar. The cheater. The piece of shit.

God, I fucking hate him.

Wrapped up in those thick arms, I struggle helplessly, flailing like a bug on it’s back. The man who’s gathered me up in a massive bearhug is Robert Carter, our nextdoor neighbor, with his wife Patty kneeling next to the crying Donald.

Crying. Literally. Big crocodile tears.

What a disgusting faker, trying to squeeze sympathy out of our neighbors.

I didn’t hit him all that hard. I think.

Hi everyone! I’m Lilah May (well, you already know that).
I write steamy romance that will touch your heart (and your body <3) in all the right ways.
Ok, maybe it sounds a little corny but it’s true!
I make sure my books are full of hot and dirty scenes but still has that oh so important warm sentimental love.

Anywho, I’m just a girl with too many dirty thoughts going through her head and I thought I’d share them with all of you!

Though I have to warn you: be prepared!
These stunning alpha male heroes I write about are straight out of my fantasies: impossibly sexy, crazy dominant, and 110% guaranteed to make your knees weak.
So you better sit down, grab a towel and leave all your inhibitions at the door (along with your panties) because my books will make you melt and squirm with HEA love!

Side note: I like my cookies chewy and I’ve learned way too late in my life that I can microwave them for ten seconds to make them chewy again. I don’t hate on crunchy, though. Cookies are cookies lol.

Oh, and also I’m a nurse so when I get my hands on a real good book, things can get incredibly dangerous! (That’s a joke for all you stuffy wet blankets. I would never risk my patients. I love them!)

Chapter 1
My Assumptions

Here we are you the reader and I the storyteller. Since you are reading this, my assumption is that you can see where I am coming from or that this story is like looking at a train wreck where you cannot turn away.

Well I promise you this that I have succeeded in gaining everything I wanted with keeping two lovers. One is a secret from the other. Devon gave me a fair chance in getting me pregnant without compromising our lives. I am over the morning sickness faze and I am no longer as tired as I found myself in the beginning. I plan to tell the family soon since I am now passed that delicate stage and I couldn’t be happier.

I always knew that Josh was in my corner rooting for me. I admit that he struggled with the fact that he couldn’t contribute in the way that a husband should to this pregnancy. It took some time and he was always there by my side attending the doctor appointments until finally it worked. He doesn’t know that I went to another for help. He has no knowledge of Devon, nobody does and I plan to keep it that way.

You already know my thoughts on the matter. You are probably wondering what has gone on in the last three months, let me fill you in.

Josh and I are doing great. Our relationship is on good solid ground. It took some work but I am happy to say that we are now enjoying our time that we have together. Josh is still working lots of overtime but in the time that we do have we make the effort not to fight and work on making the effort to do things together. We put our phones down and pay attention to one another. We play video games, watch movies, cook and clean. I have to admit that the sex has become amazing. We try different things, new positions and he has even started going down on me. It had been something that he had stopped doing for years. I love Josh and I know in my heart that he has fallen in love with me all over again.

In terms of my career, work is work, what can I say. The department that I work for is currently downsizing its staff, which means they have cut back on the temporary staff. I don’t need to worry as my job is secure. I am permanent but with the reduction in staff, the workload has increased significantly. Everyone that I work with is feeling the extra burden and office life has been a challenge. Colleagues, including myself have been unhappy and it is hard to stay positive when being dumped on with crap in every direction. I know that I need to keep my chin up for the months that I have left before I go on maturnity leave and I hope when after I return from the leave the atmosphere will be better. I have learned not to dwell on the negative and instead hope for the positive, which is easier said than done.

I still haven’t caught that break on my published book. It is getting steady viewings, downloads and purchases but I haven’t seen that upswing when a book takes off and launches an author into stardom. I am still hopeful that my time will come because I am steadily receiving good reviews from complete strangers, which always does bring a smile to my face when I read them. I believe that things come in time and I trust that good things will come.

Devon, my secret is back at his home in Texas doing great. He is one funny guy I tell yah. He wanted to know if I did get pregnant and you already know that I told him. Even though he is just a friend, he couldn’t be more thrilled and he is confident that it was his own that made it work. It’s nice to know that I have him in my corner and I am happy to have shared time with such an awesome man. I feel the same with it being his but I won’t know for sure until I see the baby because of that small chance that the donor sperm worked.

We are still the best of friends and talk pretty well every day and today is no different every time I have something that I am itching to share Devon is the first to know and today is no different.
